The Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon came about from walking our oldest block and noting the uniqueness of certain areas. In these special spots the soil exhibits a more orangey hue and the resulting fruit is darker in color and has higher acidity. We began to spot-pick these areas and the result is this select, distinctive wine.

Our Old Vine bottling is a rare wine produced from the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines on Pritchard Hill. The vineyard’s roots have grown deep into our volcanic rocky soils lending a distinct personality to the grape clusters harvested. We pick through the clusters produced from the older vines to cull out the best of the best each year. A dark violet and ruby red color complements aromas that are bright and lifted with wild blackberry compote, and subtle mint-chocolate notes. The palate is round and focused with flavors of black cherry and tamarind. Best from 2017 to 2030.
